It is understood that the recipient of a Food and Resource Economics Department scholarship will meet the following criteria:
· Be enrolled in a FRE major
· Be registered as a full time student (Undergraduate: 12 hours minimum; Graduate Student: 9 hours)
· Have a minimum of 2.5 GPA (most scholarships require a 3.0 or higher GPA)
Scholarship applications are evaluated on the basis of scholarship, leadership, professional potential and in some cases, financial need. Recipients are selected during the summer semester and scholarships are awarded for the following fall and spring semesters. All applicants will be notified of a decision in late May or early June.
Applications are due April 7, 2017. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
*Need Based Awards: Student MUST be certified by SFA as “needy” and must have a current FAFSA on file with Student Financial Aid. FAFSA form is located at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Students not eligible to apply through FAFSA must complete a Determination of Financial Need Form. Please see the FRE Administrative Assistant for a copy of this form. Failure to complete these forms will forfeit the award.
