A Survey of Frost Protection Practices for Florida Low-Chill Peaches
Purpose of the survey:
This survey is developed as a part of the University of Florida (UF) research project to help Florida peach growers with selecting best frost protection strategies for critical low-temperature events.
What you will be asked to do in the survey:
The survey is intended for
farm owners and/or managers
. You will receive a questionnaire asking about your farm size, farm age, type of peach grown, frost protection practices, sources of information for frost events, and farm irrigation system.
Approximately 5 - 10 minutes.
Risks and benefits:
We believe that there are no risks to you from participating in this study. There are also no direct benefits or compensation to you for participating. Some survey questions that are directly related to grower practices could result in respondent unease due to concerns about data confidentiality. Respondents are encouraged to review the Confidentiality, Voluntary Participation, and Right to Withdraw statements described below. However,
your participation is important because it will help with research to improve peach frost protection strategies
You will not receive compensation for your participation in this study.
Your identity will be kept confidential to the extent provided by law. Your name will not be recorded or linked to your responses in any way. We will only use your answers after they have been combined with the other respondents' answers.
You must be 18 years of age to participate. Your participation in this study is completely voluntary.
Right to withdraw from the study:
You have the right to withdraw from the study at any time without consequence.
